ART 1201C - Design Fundamentals

Course Description

A basic course in visual principles and elements of design emphasizing the vocabulary of art and technical skill in handling art tools for two- dimensional visual creations. Studio fee required. Supply purchase required.

 

 

Required Text: Making Art: Form and Meaning, Terry Barret.

Design Basics Index, Jim Krause - A very good (and inexpensive) book that simplifies design principles and concepts, also very good for graphic design 1. $16.00 on Amazon.com.

This is a studio class. You will split your time between traditional media and computer generated design by using: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. There is a focus on Design and use of the Principles of Design.
